About Paul Salmon Custom Flies

Paul Salmon is the 9th fly tyer to the CudaFly stable. Paul specialises in a range of trout and grayling river flies including midge and Czech nymph patterns. Paul is based in Middlesex and describes himself below.
"My main background has been as an editorial photographer for publications such as The Sunday Times, TIME magazine and BBC Good Food. Since becoming a father, I decided a career change would be a good idea, to be close to my family, instead of always being on the road. Shortly after the birth of my son, in 1998, I found myself very close to home, as a stay at home Dad. This gave me the chance to begin Fly fishing and fly tying. I have been tying since that time, and find that I get the same amount of satisfaction from tying a good fly as I do from a day out on the river.
Once I qualified as an instructor at the Level 2 standard, I began working for Orvis as a Ghillie, having the famous Ginger Beer beat on the River Test as my place of work. It was there that I learned to fish a great many fly patterns, including most of those tied by the great Oliver Edwards."
