This synthetic pattern is extremely light weight and has a high profile, when viewed from the front it very narrow, making it aerodynamic. All of this combined with the synthetic material which shed the water on the back cast make it a great baitfish pattern. With a pair of scissors it is very easy to "match the hatch" and trim the hi-tie down to the size of the baitfish around. With water proof marker pens you can add bars to imitate mackerel. Slinky fiber has almost neutral buoyancy, so this fly is best fished in the upper water column.
