My name is James Griffiths otherwise known as ( QUILLKNOT ) in various fly tying forums

I was born and raised in a village in North Wales called Blaenau Ffestiniog , from a very early age I was introduced to the various lakes and rivers around the area , my father would carry me on his back while he walked across the old railway lines at Glanpwll then we would make our way to Cwmorthin where the late Emrys Evans would be seen fishing his special patterns .
Soon I would become acquainted with the fly tying vice and would learn to tie the Classic wet flies , so from those very early years my style of tying is heavily influenced by the classic Welsh wets .
My passion for fly tying always manages to come out in my flies and am happy to introduce them to you , I only hope one day to represent my country and pass on my knowledge to up and coming youngsters and show them how Welsh flies have influenced the world.
