Catching Salmon on the Miramachi

CudaFly trades under the name of Barracuda and also includes Barracuda Guiding and Steve’s custom fly shop. The companies are owned by Steve Beacall who has been fishing since the age of 10. If it’s got fins Steve will try and catch it on the fly!

Steve decided to realise his ambition of starting his own company at the end of 2004 after working within the industry for Tree Meadow Fishery in Cornwall and Guide Fly Fishing alongside Crystal River covering areas within the South West and some North West regions.  Steve completed his GAIA level 2 (Game Anglers Instructors Association) qualifying in 2005.

Our Parent company Barracuda Guiding has been trading since 2004 and relocated to the North West in 2005. Steve is also an accomplished and innovative fly dresser, observation being the basis of all his fly designs and has tied at The British Fly Fair on the few occasions when he has been free to attend. Cudafly was developed in 2006 as a response to the interest in Steve’s Custom Flies and associated products. Steve still gives guided trips, fly tying lessons / demonstrations and casting lessons and his flies are available here on line in his custom fly shop.
