Cudafly was developed as part of Barracuda Guiding in 2006 to encompass all aspects relating to Fly Tying products. We carry a large range of tying materials, fly tying tools, fly fishing gear, trout flies, saltwater flies. pike flies, salmon flies and fly tying kits starting from the absolute novice to the more experienced Tyer.
The CudaFly Forum provides Free fly tying patterns with full instructions, as well as tips and advice from Steve Beacall as to how to avoid common problems. Our Forum and Blog’s also contain a lot of information for people who wish to ask or post fishing articles and photographs, as well as the opportunity to ask questions relating to tying or fishing. Essentially the aim of our Forum is to promote all aspects of fly tying and fly fishing
The blog on our forum here will be used to keep you up to date to what’s going on at CudaFly. Remember registered members can also create their own blogs if they wish, again free of charge.
Our other blog, which we shared with Barracuda Guiding, has now ceased to exist in its current form. We had been using that service for the last four years and it was extremely successful. However over the years it began to look very tired. The company who hosted that blog could not update their software so we have now started a new blog to replace the old. This is located at http://www.cudafly.co.uk/blog/ . Those of you who saw the old blog will see the changes immediately. The design is far cleaner and gives much more scope for media content. All of the posts from the original blog that is still of interest to readers has been migrated. In future posts on this blog will be dialog and insights written by Steve from CudaFly.
Regulars will notice the changes that have been made on our Forum. All the design work has now been completed although at some stage we may change the image pack. The Forum has now got a FaceBook application integrated within the system such that any posts made can be published straight to your FaceBook Wall should you wish. We also have some other plans for the Forum in the New Year but we will keep you posted as these develop.
There has also been huge changes on our shopping site this last year and unfortunately due to the constraints in our time that this has involved there has been a distinct lack of posts both on our Blog’s and Forum. The bulk of this work s now complete and we hope to start posting again. A few online videos have already been prepared as well as tying instructions for some of our favorite flies. Our schedule for our main site should mean that by the middle of February the posts should start coming thick and fast.
Keeping the Forum Free from Spammers.
We have had many emails and phone calls regarding the low numbers of registered users and for those who have registered through the forum asking why their account was not granted. Basically the CudaFly site as a whole is very popular and consequently it attracts some prospective members who would like to fill the forum with SPAM. We abhor spam in any form and do not want the forum filled with junk. Therefore we are extremely selective as to who we give accounts. The surest way of getting on the forum is to email the shop site once you have registered here. After IP checks etc we will grant you a account initially on a moderated basis. Unfortunately this is a measure we have had to enforce due to an ignorant few.
This Site is Yours To!
We at CudaFly take any suggestions on board and will implement requests as much as possible. The Forum belongs as much to our members as it does to us. If you would like any additions to the forum, tying pattern requests or any fly tying or fly fishing information feel free to contact any member of the CudaFly team either through here or the CudaFly shop.
We hope you enjoy our forum and blogs as much as we do
Take care and Tight Lines
