SWKA are pleased to announce their 3rd annual kayak fishing competition, to be held on the 21st of July 2012 on the Gower peninsular.
We have just finalized the arrangements for this years event with just the camp site to sort but it should be the same as last year.
There is a massive amount of prizes to be had this year and considering the tough times we are going through and the tough time we have gone through to get them we are pleasantly surprised with what we have got to offer and there is still more to come in
1st prize is Shakespear 145 grandslam fishing kayak
sponsored by White Water Consultancy

2nd prize is Shakespear 120 fishing kayak
sponsored by White Water Consultancy

3rd prize is £250 cash
sponsored by GJL Electrical Services LTD

we also have £100 voucher a couple of £50 vouchers, rods and reels for best specimen, Bass, and so on these are just a few of the smaller prizes that we need to categorize but there is a load of them this year

It also looks like we will be giving a goodie bag away again this year for the entrants

and also the big raffle, we are still getting these in but it has been hard with the amount of competitions that are going on and all the tackle shops are getting tighter but that's also a sign of the times, so if any of you Guys and Gals have something to contribute for the raffle it would be appreciated, i know Dave SM always chucks something in but i think that's his guilty conscience for winning a prize every year
All money raised goes to the RNLI as usual, last year raise £1000

Rules for the competition are, its a catch and release, and all fish must me photographed with an entry card visible
Only 2 rods with a maximum of 6 hooks between the both rods
One angler on a kayak
rods in at 10, out at 3.30, times may be subject to change on the day
Loads of other small rules but i think you can get the jist of it.
registration will begin at around 7.45 and prize giving will be around 4.30
Now the insurance bit, SWKA have been working hard on this for a very long time and we are pleased to say it has paid off, we are fully insured to cover this event and all anglers will be covered as long as some basic rules are followed, if they are not, there will be a disqualification on the grounds of Health and Safety.
Now that the competition is covered its time to cover the most important bit, The after party
We are hoping the camp site will be the same we just need to confirm prices, that will be towards the end of this month when he opens up, The big top marquee will be provided again, along with a fully paid for Barbecue for the Saturday night, we are also working on a pig roast as we can get it for cost (and no we haven't pinched the pig ), there will be the usual keg of beer but we are working on a second keg now as you can see it will be one hell of a party
This truly is a great event and weekend, we don't just class it as a competition but also a family weekend as there will be kids, wives , dogs and sheep , so if you fancy a good weekend with a good bunch of people and a good craic just come down, you wont be sorry.
here a couple of links from last year to wet your appetite
http://swka.org.uk/f...ng-competition/
http://swka.org.uk/f...hing-comp-2011/

we are currently looking for sponsers for this event as we want to make it bigger and better that the 2 previous years.
we would also like to give a big thanks to Steve and Kath from Cudafly for their very knind and generous offer for the event.

Cheers Ed
